Project Concept
The core value of this project is to create a title sequence that captures the audience during the first several minutes of the movie. Hopefully also make the audience notice the credits rather than over look them. I am hoping to capture the movies essence and portray it in a creative manner.
Objectives
In this title sequence I want to portray several key ideas that I found while watching the movie. There are many symbols in this movie that I think can be represented in the title sequence, and I hope to creatively incorporate them. I also want to make the viewer notice the beginning credits, rather than just overlook them. The sequence may also have an affect of preparing the audience for the setting that the movie takes place in.
Audience
I think the main audience for this movie is young adult and upward. There are many foreshadows and symbols that may be missed if you are not paying attention.
Perception/Tone
Since the audience will mainly be adults, I won’t have to rely heavily on visuals. I will be playing a lot with text as a visual though. The tone of the sequence will be set by the creative use of text and graphics to depict the upcoming setting. (the train) Also it will include some hint at the brotherhood the three characters come to find. I’m
Communication Strategy
I want to use the train as a main object to set the tone; from there credits may be incorporated. I also want to use peacock feathers in the sequence somehow because of its re-occurrence and significance in the movie. It may become a texture, or an added interest to the type or background. But it will definitely be a key element.
Competitive Landscape
I thought this film had a sort of indie feel to it, and off the top of my head it reminded me of other such movies like, the science of sleep, the fountain, Garden state, into the wild, juno

These pictures are great! I've never seen the movie but I really feel like I get a sense of their bond from it. I like the fact that you're going to try to incorporate the brotherhood theme of the movie, because that seems very apparent. I don't know if this is a good idea but is there a way that you can incorporate the aspect of threes? It seems like that sort of imagery could be interesting in your sequence. Also what kind of symbols are in the movie that you plan to show? I think the idea is great. It will really help set up the film, and when people start watching the movie it will make them remember the title sequence because they'll recognize the symbols. I wish I could be more helpful :) I'm not sure what I'm doing haha. I hope though that that's helpful.
